The Greenland wolf is described as being similar to the Arctic Wolf. This white to pale colored wolf is a subspecies of the Gray Wolf. Reginald Pocock described and classified the Greenland wolf in 1935. Some scientist believe that the Greenland Wolf is the same subspecies as the Arctic Wolf. Any morphological differences described may be attributed to malnutrition as the five specimens collected were taken during the winter months. Wolf populations in Greenland are relatively small so proper examination of the species has not been undertaken.
