Cascade Mountain Wolf

The Cascade Mountain Wolf roamed a large area from Southwestern Canada downward to California. They ranged in size from 80 to 90 pounds but some specimens were reported to reach as much as 175 pounds. They were usually greyish brown in color with reddish highlights. This subspecies of Gray Wolf was hunted and poisoned to extinction sometime between 1930 and 1950. No photos of the animal is available.
